If you are like me, then you love obsessing over finding new ways to improve your beauty regime without spending loads of cash. So I am sharing a classic way to improve your skin with a DIY aloe vera face mask. It is awesome that we can create beauty products with household ingredients and this recipe only takes 2 ingredients! I like to keep my beauty regime au naturel, so maintaining clear skin is a definite must. However, sometimes I may get an occasional pimple and pick at it causing some scarring or use a hot new product that my sensitive skin did not agree with. Therefore finding ways to reverse some of these scars and discoloration is always appreciated. Aloe Vera is a succulent plant that is known to help heal acne scars and remove dark spots and blemishes from the skin. This face mask should do just that and have you feeling like the radiate beauty that you are, just without the makeup. Remember even though aloe vera is a plant, allergic reactions can still occur, be sure to conduct a reaction test on a small section of your hand before applying to your face. Take a peek below and get ready to start slathering your face with this healing plant gel.

First, we will start with the ingredients for our DIY aloe vera mask:

  1. Half of a lemon (To prevent the aloe vera from browning)
  2. 2 Aloe Vera leaves
  3. 3 bowls
  4. A knife
  5. A blender

Okay, now we can begin the work. First,  you will cut off 2 leaves from your Aloe Vera plant. You are going to cut off the edges and then cut the leaf open lengthwise. Inside you will see the clear, sticky aloe gel. Carefully cut out the gel and put it into a bowl.

Next, you will squeeze the lemon juice into the other bowl. If you don’t want to squeeze by hand, you can always use a juicer.

Then you will pour the aloe vera gel into the blender followed by the lemon juice. Blend. Once blended thoroughly, the mixture is ready for use. You can pour it in the 3rd bowl and get ready to apply!

Now your Aloe Vera DIY face mask is complete! You can store it in a container and reuse as needed. This Tribe Approved mask is probably my favorite beauty DIY and you should definitely try it out! Nothing looks better with a bikini than skin you feel good in! Have you tried this DIY before? How did you like it? Let us know in the comments below!

I am a 23 year female originally from Boston, Massachusetts and currently reside in Wilmington, North Carolina. I have lived in North Carolina for about 13 years. I moved to Wilmington to attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Theatre. I have many interests, because I like to dabble in a little bit of anything. However my favorite this to do is travel - especially to tropical countries! I love the feeling of being somewhere new and the enjoyment of going to interesting shops or tasting mouthwatering food. I go to the beach almost everyday. I have a deep love of the ocean and beach activities. I like how time seems to slow down and everyone seems happier at the beach or in the ocean. Some of my other enjoyments include any form of art. My three favorite mediums are fashion, music, and painting/drawing. I am always striving to get better or learn something new. People would describe me as always smiling and ready for the next adventure! I am a person with a lot of passion and drive, but tend to stay very mellow.
